“A few years ago, while I was
teaching institute, one student taught me and our entire class an invaluable
lesson. It was the week following
general conference, and we were sharing what we had heard, learned, and
felt. A young woman raised her hand and
said that she had received more answers to personal questions during that
general conference than any other and believed it was because of the way she
had prepared for it. Six months earlier,
she and a friend had decided they would read or listen to a general conference
address every day.
“I believe that because the Lord could see I
had taken the words of His prophets seriously from the last conference,” she
said, “He gave me even more personal inspiration during this general conference.”
