Amy Baldwin - Dammeron Valley Ward
It was great to rub shoulders with the other speakers (at the Women's Conference). I
have tried to incorporate their words into my daily habits. I truly want to
strive to have a daily devotional and feast upon a sacred time with my Heavenly
Father, by so doing I will be able to be a stronger light for others to see.
I had an experience a couple of weeks ago. I attended the
Diamond Valley 2nd ward and as I entered the chapel and sat in the
back, immediately sweet sisters came and greeted me. I felt so welcome and
loved. Thank you Diamond Valley 2nd for being an example of a "Pure in
Heart". Later in the month I was in relief society in my own ward and
there were sisters who I did not recognize. I thought to myself, "I am not
going to welcome them because they are probably visitors and I do not have time
to worry about getting to know them when they are leaving today." Then the
relief society president hugged these visitors and warmly welcomed them. I
remembered how I had felt in the Diamond Valley 2nd ward, and committed to
change my approach and welcome anyone, and try to see people as the Savior sees
them.
